The Glenlo Abbey Hotel

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel is a five-star establishment located at Bushypark some 2 miles outside Galway city toward Clifden on the N59 road. The hotel is situated in a 138 acre estate overlooking Lough Corrib with the original house dating back to 1740. The property belongs to the Bourke family who took it over as a country estate and farm in 1984 before converting it into the current hotel. Like many of the historic great Irish Houses, the Glenlo estate had a private chapel built on the grounds. Constructed in 1790, the Abbey at Glenlo, is an example of this historic tradition and has been integrated into the hotel name.

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel integrates impeccably finished rooms and suites with a friendly bar, a golf course and a very interesting restaurant. A significant collection of antiques and modern works of art by local artists create a sense of elegance and style. Fishing, boating and golf are some of the outdoor activities which can be enjoyed during a stay at the Glenlo Abbey. The establishment is also member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
